G&T (Citrus)
Happy International G&T day #drinkstagram! Being told to be created in 1800s to ease the consumption of tonic water (cure for malaria disease), there are two important issues to consider while preparing this easy-to-make cocktail; gin-tonic ratio and the garnish. I generally prefer 1:3 ratio but of course the best is the one that you enjoy. The garnish that you use is really important since it may boost the flavors of the gin or totally block them. If you care about this, then it is better to select the right garnish. For that, I generally consider manufacturer’s recommendation. And when I use a citrus forward gin, I sometimes spice up my cocktail a little bit by adding a few dashes of grapefruit bitters.
Ingredients
- 50 ml Citrus forward gin
- 150 ml Tonic water
- 2 dashes Grapefruit bitters
Instructions
- Add your gin of your choice and tonic water respectively to your ice-filled glass. Add grapefruit bitters and give it a quick stir. Garnish with a rosemary sprig and a grapefruit peel. Cheers! 🍸
