Prickly pear meets agave based spirits

Prickly pear is widely available in the southern part of Turkey, where I grew up. That’s why I feel nostalgic about it. It is hard to find in Istanbul and I haven’t seen a cocktail with it till now. So, I made one. I prepared a puree after grilling them which I never tried before and it turned out really good. And prickly pears match really good with tequila and here is a sip that I really enjoyed. Do you know or tried a cocktail with prickly pears?

Ingredients
  

  • 30 ml Mezcal
  • 30 ml Tequila blanco
  • 10 ml Yuzu liqueur
  • 40 ml Prickly pear puree
  • 15 ml Lime juice
  • 15 ml Pink grapefruit juice
  • 10 ml Agave nectar

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients into a shaker and shake well with ice. Double strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with a prickly pear or a grapefruit slice.
