Tolgahan Ulutaş shared this recipe of his with me while we were talking about the problems of the supply of creme de violette in Turkey. I had all the ingredients at hand, so I immediately gave it a try. As you can understand from the ingredients, it is a cocktail that has floral notes and sour cherry is also a good match to these notes. And when you talk about elderflower and violette, using gin as the base became somehow inevitable. Here is the recipe;
Ingredients
- 50 ml London Dry Gin
- 15 ml Elderflower liqueur
- 15 ml Creme de violette
- 15 ml Lime juice
- 15 ml Sweet and sour mix
- 2 Sour cherries
Instructions
- Muddle sour cherries in your shaker and add the rest of the ingredients. Shake with ice if you are using premade s&s mix (check below for the recipe) or dry shake and wet shake if you are using egg white directly in your cocktail. Double strain into an ice-filled glass and garnish with a dried orange wheel. Cheers! 🍹
