Satsuma Whiskey Sour
The first cocktail I make when I have a new flavor is generally a whiskey sour. This time it is the turn of my homemade satsuma cordial. I sometimes keep the sugar ratio low in the cordial to be able to use it more in the cocktails. My sour formula is generally 3:2:1 (base spirit, lemon and syrup) but for this one I swapped the lemon and the syrup since the cordial has low sugar ratio and also has a sour characteristic. I also muddled a small piece of ginger.
Ingredients
- 60 ml Bourbon
- 40 ml Satsuma cordial
- 20 ml Lemon juice
- A small cube of ginger
- Egg white
Instructions
- Muddle the ginger in the shaker and add the rest of the ingredients. First dry shake, add ice and shake again. Double strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with a satsuma. Cheers! 🥃
