Lion’s Milk (Aslan Sütü)

A good example for the use of an alternative milk from wheat germ in a cocktail

Aslan Sütü (Lion’s Milk)

Wheat germ is the key ingredient in this cocktail since it all started with the idea of using it in a cocktail. First question was in what form and how to use it. The answer to that is to extract the milk out of it by resting it in water with oat over night. The outcome matches perfectly with rum, white creme de cacao and cherry bitters is a perfect addition. I normally don’t prefer milky or creamy cocktails but I really enjoyed this one.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Plantation Grande Reserve Rum
  • 30 ml White creme de cacao
  • 90 ml Wheat germ milk
  • 4 dashes Cherry bitters

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients into your shaker and shake well with ice. Double strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with cacao nibs placed in a chestnut shell.
    Cheers! 🥂
