Bijou
Bijou is a cocktail from the pre-prohibition era, original recipe of which contains equal amounts of gin, sweet vermouth, green Chartreuse and few dashes of orange bitters. In fact, it can be thought of as a Negroni with green Chartreuse instead of Campari. Chartreuse is a very strong flavored liqueur, so when making the cocktail, I made the recipe that is used more frequently today, with less Chartreuse and more gin. Despite this, it is still so dominant in this boozy cocktail. Bijou means jewel in French, and it is said that Harry Johnson, who is told to be the creator of this cocktail, named it after the color of the cocktail.
