The type of whiskey used when making a whiskey sour or a whiskey sour twist is very important. Bourbon whiskey is generally used for the sour treatment because of its naturally sweet taste. Woodford Reserve Bourbon is a very easy-drinking bourbon with a rich aroma profile. It was 2017, when I was first introduced to Woodford Reserve in Berlin. The bartender at the bar “Le Labo”, where I drink whiskey sour all the time, brought me a bottle one evening which then became one of my favorites. In this mix, kumquat cordial and blood orange juice create a very nice texture, so I prefer to use foamer instead of egg white.
