Red Mimosa

Happy National Mimosa Day! Mimosa is an easy to make classic cocktail with equal parts of orange juice and champagne. Although, it is mostly considered as a cocktail of brunches and business class flights, I think it can be enjoyed regardless of any celebrations or events. The original cocktail got its name from a yellow flower native to Australia because of its color but this time it is not yellow since I used blood orange juice. I also highly recommend adding a little amount of triple sec.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Champagne/Prosecco
  • 60 ml Blood orange juice
  • 15 ml Cointreau

Instructions

  • Pour orange juice and prosecco in your chilled flute glass. Top with champagne and garnish with a blood orange wedge. (Make sure all the ingredients used in this cocktail are chilled.)
