Billy Walker is a renowned whisky entrepreneur and blender. After the Benriach, GlenDronach, and Glenglassaugh brands were sold to Brown Forman in 2016, he acquired the Glenallachie distillery in 2017 and introduced a new single malt series in 2018. GlenAllachie 12 (by the way, the letter “a” in the name became capital) is the flagship of this new core range.
GlenAllachie 12 is bottled at 46% abv and is matured in Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso, and new oak casks. It is non-chill filtered and bottled with its natural color. The issue of natural color is significant, and you will understand this when you see the whisky. I won’t provide tasting notes here; you know where to look for those. It’s a very enjoyable whisky. It has also made its way to Turkey in recent years. I can recommend getting a bottle for sure.
